We are Project Vikas, a student-led organization backed by Indian Friends of Atlanta (IFA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Atlanta, Georgia. Project Vikas and IFA are currently under a fiscal sponsorship; therefore, all donations are tax-deductible.
We shed light on the injustices the impoverished face in India every day. Many of them cannot receive access to free legal representation.
There have been so many cases of the poor getting taken advantage of because they are unable to afford legal assistance for various issues.
One of the biggest issues is the fact that the existing legal aids in India cannot stay in business to continue to support poor individuals free of charge. Some of our registered partners in India, such as Justice Alive Foundation (a registered NGO that is FRCA approved) struggle to stay in business.
Every single donation goes towards paying for proper lawyers and legal aid to those who can't afford them. We fund projects like constructing courthouses, host events in Atlanta to spread awareness, and help various registered legal Aid Organizations stay in business. Top top this off, we target people in rural parts of India, which are places affected by some of the biggest increases in poverty in the last decade.
We believe legal services should be accessible to all, regardless of financial status, location, language, or education level.
We empower individuals with knowledge of their rights and the legal system, enabling them to advocate for themselves and their communities.
We are committed to upholding the principles of fairness, equality, and justice for all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances.
